Artist Statment:

For the Memento project, a boarding memory I picked memory of when I was looking st going boarding school my senior year. This memory meant a lot to me because of the journey that it not only brought me on but my mom and my family as well. Each side of the sculpture is a feeling that I experienced on my journey. the steps represent the steps I had to take in finding the school and the start of my journey. the part of a tree trunk represents's the symbol of the school its self.

Materials : Soap Artist statement: For this assignment, I had to carve a wolf out of soap. I started to put the wolf ugenst the soap to get the shape and the hight of the wolf. The first time I did this it did not turn out the way that I planned.  The second time I did it I got the hang of it.

Identity: What makes me who I am

Materials Used : Rope handmade labels  Tissue Paper Ink sharpie  Artist Statment:  My identity project represents what I think I am and how a view myself as well as what society see's in me as an African American women and my viewpoints on how my family sees me. In a world in which we judge someone before we even have a conversation with them has always fascinated me. As an African American women, and that fact that I have people tell me that don't live up to the standers of being into or pour so I am not a true African American woman. The stereotypes that society puts on African American women are in red. In blue, I put what I think my family views me as.
