On Longing

Sentence One: "The body is the primary mode of perceiving scale."

For this sentence, I pick a picture of me and my friends in a snow globe. This photo was taken at an event at the college.  You can tell how big the snow globe is because we are inside of it.



Sentence two: "Capacity of objects to serve as traces of authentic experience."

For this Picture, I picked a picture of me at the bean in Chicago. I pick this picture because I will all ways look back at it and remember my time there. I will never forget getting right off of the plain and the group that I was with was already making plains to go and that moment was very special to me. 


Sentence three: "The souvenir reduces the public, the monumental, and the three-dimensional into the miniature, that which can be enveloped by the body."
For this quote, its I picked a picture of my mom’s birthday cake. I pick this because this is something that we all use to celebrate a birthday but once we eat it the celebration goes on.


Sentence four: "To have a souvenir of the exotic is to possess both a specimen and a trophy."

For this quote, I picked my pictures of flowers. These flowers were given out after my first admitted students day as a Volunteer ambassador. This meant a lot to me because I was my first semester at Flagler and Everything was going perfect that day. I originally took the picture to share the experience with my mom that made the day even better.

Sentence five: "... the nostalgic input of the handmade in a 'plastic world.'"

This image is a picture of a block print that I made in 2D.  I picked this because I had to carve out the wood from the block and apply the ink to then press it on to the cloth. I was a long process but once it was done I was happy with it.
