Floating Architecture

Materials Used:

  •  Card Board
  • Wood Glue
  • Black Ink
Artist Statment :

For the floating Architecture project, I took Architecture from the Roman times as well as the Middle Ages. I took the concept of the arches from the Roman Coliseum. and the triangled roof that the Middle ages had brought me to make the floating roof. The class was only able to use blake and white so that is what brought me to use the colors that I did.

Balsa Wood Sculpture

Materials Used : Balas Wood Paper wood glue Artist Statment: For these two Sculptures, We had to create one with just Balsa wood and one with balsa wood and paper. for the balsa wood, I wanted to bring the ocean to the classroom. I wanted someone to think about the Ocean while on a boat when the sun is setting. for the second sculpture, I used the paper and balsa wood to give a camp vibe with the paper 3D triangals.

Memento

Materials Used:   Wood Wood Glue Artist Statment : For the Memento project, a boarding memory I picked memory of when I was looking st going boarding school my senior year. This memory meant a lot to me because of the journey that it not only brought me on but my mom and my family as well. Each side of the sculpture is a feeling that I experienced on my journey. the steps represent the steps I had to take in finding the school and the start of my journey. the part of a tree trunk represents's the symbol of the school its self.

3D to 2D

Artist Statement: for this project I took apart one of my sculptures and made it a nice back drop. with having a lot go friends that are seniors and helping them with there senior portfolio I was inspired to think of what I would want my back drop would we. I took the triangles from my paper sculpture and laid it on top of some burlap fabric.I pick this because I have always loved the feel of burlap and I picked the paper sculpture because I was my favorite project in the class.
